Technical Diving International (TDI) Cave Diving

Train to cave dive with Deep Tech with Instructors familiar with UK, French and US Cave Systems. Cave Diver Training with Deep Tech. Deep Tech is one of the few companies offering cave courses with instructors who specialise in cave diving. Guy Wallis has been teaching cave diving for 5 years both in the UK, France and The US. Guy lived in Florida for almost 3 years and obtained his full cave instructors qualification with Larry Green. He is one of the few TDI Cave Diving Instructors in the country to have gone along this select route. As a result training is progressive starting with single cylinders before moving onto doubles. In line with TDI teaching side mounts are a separate specialist course to be done after the full cave course has been completed.

Courses can be tailored to meet the individuals needs. Some or all of the training can be conducted in UK or for those seeking more idyllic conditions France and the USA are tried and tested options for one or more of the modules.

Intro to Cave

This course is an introduction to the basic principles of cave diving utilizing a single primary guide line. Introductory cave diving is the second level in the development of safe techniques for cave diving, directly building upon the cavern diver course. This introduction to cave diving is not intended to train divers for all facets of cave diving. The course develops and establishes minimum skills, knowledge, dive planning and preparation, problem solving procedures, swimming techniques, emergency procedures and the basic abilities necessary to safely cave dive within limited penetrations. Mastering buoyancy control, working with a reel, a light, and awareness in the cave is necessary to safely enjoy another dimension in cave diving. Those familiar with doubles or those intending to enrol in the Full Cave Diver training program can do so at this stage. A full outline of the course is given below.

Prerequisites: To have successfully completed the Cavern or recognised OHE course. A minimum of 25 logged dives. Minimum age 18 years or 15 with parental approval.

The objective of this course is to expand and critique previous skills accomplished in the Cavern and Introductory Cave diving programs. Emphasis is placed upon dive planning and skill perfection through actual cave penetration. The primary focus of the Full Cave Diver course is establishing proper procedures for completing traverses and circuits. At this stage divers are expected to be conversant with the use and appropriate configuration of twin sets.
